Education and Academic Career
Graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine as a Medical Doctor in 1989. Completed residency training at the same university in 1996, becoming a Specialist in Neurosurgery.
Completed the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS) 5-year course program (started in 1992 during residency) in 1996 and passed the European Board written exam in the same year. Later passed the second (oral) step to become European Board Certified in Neurosurgery.
Started his academic career as a Lecturer at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery in 1998. He became an Associate Professor in 2007 and a Professor in 2012. In addition to his clinical studies, he completed his PhD in Anatomy at Trakya University Institute of Health Sciences (started in 2004) in January 2009.

He has 190 national and international publications and presentations. He has served as a meeting chairman, speaker, instructor, or session chair in over 200 national and international meetings, seminars, and courses on spinal surgery and spinal biomechanics. He serves as a reviewer and editor for 9 international journals indexed in SCI-E.
